Are Subliminal Messages Legal?

There is so much controversy surrounding subliminal mp3s right now. In the last couple of years they have been big news..

Firstly fast food chain McDonalds were accused of flashing a one frame message of their logo on the Food Network TV channel. Then it was George Bush in the public eye for, using political subliminal messages during his his election campaign.

It is a shame, but even despite being highlighted in the media like this, both George Bush and McDonalds were able to walk away untouched.

George Bush simply ignored the allegations and eventually they went away, and McDonalds claimed it was just a programming error rather than a purposeful subliminal advert. No further investigation ever pursued either Bush or McDonalds – sadly.

It is clear that more should be done to monitor and control the use of subliminal messages and how they are used, but going back to the original question of whether they are actually illegal or not then:

No subliminal messaging isn’t illegal.

They are not allowed to be used within advertising in the way that you can’t use purely subliminal sounds, or flashing subliminal images / words.

However the rules are harder to judge for just a “subliminal suggestion”.. A subliminal suggestion is usually an image which at first glance looks normal, but on further inspection there is a subliminal link – typically linking a product to sex within the buyers mind. Typical examples of this can include somehow placing the word “sex” within the imagery / background of the advert, or something as simple as having a beautiful girl holding / using the product – Coca Cola for example often use this female imagery for example, even down to the very fact that their bottles are shaped to mimic the body of a woman.

Mind Control Techniques – Autosuggestion

Thought I would address some Mind Control Techniques – starting with Autosuggestion.

If you want to get more of what you want out of life – you need to control your mind. I live by this little quote “you either control your mind … or your mind controls you”.

If you are like most people, controlling your mind is pretty much impossible. It is constantly popping in thoughts – maybe working overtime – hyperactive imagination – negative thoughts – self-talk, etc.

Do you know where thoughts come from? Have you ever really thought about that? (sorry side topic).

Wouldn’t it be amazing to command your mind to go to work and get you what you want? Instead of all this non-focused mind chatter – your mind could be harnessing the law of attraction to get your desires.

We’ll given the choice … I am going to opt for getting more of what I want.

So … how do you do it?

Autosuggestion.

What is autosuggestion anyway? It basically you suggesting something to … you. Deliberately. It is an affirmation.

The way I like to use autosuggestion is with simple plain language. The fewer words the better.

For example … I know what I want. Lets say it is to earn $10,000 a month to support me and my family. What I would do is shorten this longer sentance to be $10,000 a month … or maybe just $10k.

I know what $10k means. I can say it over and over and over again … like a mantra.

Why do this? When you say your mantra … it is a reminder to you to get into the right mind set – to attract what you want.

So … when I say $10k … I am changing my thoughts and feelings to having $10k a month.

So … the big key here is to change your feeling. You want to start thinking about how wonderful the $10k is for you – what it will do for.

Just saying $10k and getting no feeling is an empty – almost wasted effort. The real power is changing your feeling. Change to the feeling of having!

So … when you mind goes off on whatever tangent it goes off on … bring in your little mantra and take control of your mind. Deliberately control your thoughts with your mantra and this will deliberately change your feelings which will deliberately change your attraction.

Now … spend time daily – using repetition to reprogram your subconscious mind. Take charge. Do this consistently and do it often.

When do you stop? When you get what you want.

Want The Secret? Control Your Mind – Control Your Self-Talk – Control Your Life

Guru this and guru that … the only secret to getting anything you want in your life is simply control your mind – control your thinking – control your self talk.

If you cannot control your mind – you cannot expect to control your life.

Why?

Simply this … what goes on in the mind – goes on in your life. It is basically a mirror. So within … so without.

You mind is a simple device. It records and plays back. So … if you are programming good thoughts you will get desired things. If you are programming less than positive … you get less than positive.

You do this with your thoughts … your self talk.

What you say to yourself matters. It is a COMMAND. Your obedient mind will deliver. “Your wish is my command”.

Some examples of less than positive self-talk would be:

“I’m not good enough”
“I’m not strong enough”
“I’m not thin enough”
“That is just not me”
“How stupid am I?”
“knowing my luck … “
“I could never do that …”

Fill in the blanks … “I’m just not _____ enough”.

How about wealth? Do you think it affects your wealth? Up bet it does. “I never can get ahead”.

So there are several ways to control your mind. I will name a three that I have posted about.

1. Follow The Power of Now and feel your inner being at all times. This keeps your mind focused on you … and not wandering with uncontrolled thoughts. This is easy to do. I have done it and continue to do it. It is fantastic and it has many other benefits to your life.

2. Third eye meditation … or as in The Power of Now – focus on something on your body. In this case – you keep a portion of your awareness on the third eye. It has some amazing benefits and it feels good too.

3. Use an altered consciousness state via meditation. I recommend this because it helps you control your mind at all times. You need to quiet your mind and focus on no thought. I personally life to use both 1 and 2 for the meditation. They both feel fantastic. I also use the Silva Mind Control method which is another fantastic method to learn/use.

4. Self-talk and affirmations. You need to control your self-talk. You want to improve something in your life – this is a must. You cannot do other methods and then have negative self-talk. It will defeat the good you are trying to bring about.

A couple of very good resources for Self-talk are Bradley Thompson’s Self Talk Series. These are CDs that you listen to several times a day … and they reprogram your mind. It is a very simple way to reprogram. All you need to do is listen 2-3 times a day and within a short period of time you will notice changes.

Another great resource is Shad Helmstetter’s best selling book “What To Say When You Talk To Yourself”.

But the key to all of this is … control your mind … control your thinking … control your self-talk.

If you can do that (AND YOU CAN) … you can change anything about your life.

Beware … you have programmed your life … all your life … so to reprogram … you need to consistently use REPETITION to reprogram. It will take less time that what you have done to this point in your life … but it will take time.
